Size Guides
Five minutes with a strip of paper and a ruler will save you a resize. Measure at the end of the day, when your hands are at their largest.
Ring size
Wrap a strip of paper or a length of non-stretch string around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, then lay it flat against a ruler. That measurement in millimetres is your inside circumference.
If you are sizing over a knuckle that is wider than the base of the finger, measure the knuckle too and choose the larger of the two.
| Inside circumference | Inside diameter | Size |
|---|---|---|
| 44.2 mm | 14.1 mm | 3 |
| 46.8 mm | 14.9 mm | 4 |
| 49.3 mm | 15.7 mm | 5 |
| 51.9 mm | 16.5 mm | 6 |
| 54.4 mm | 17.3 mm | 7 |
| 57.0 mm | 18.1 mm | 8 |
| 59.5 mm | 18.9 mm | 9 |
| 62.1 mm | 19.8 mm | 10 |
| 64.6 mm | 20.6 mm | 11 |
| 67.2 mm | 21.4 mm | 12 |
Half sizes fall between the rows above. Wide bands — anything over about 6 mm — sit tighter, so go up a half size. Every ring order from the house includes one complimentary resizing.
Bangle size
A solid bangle has to pass over the knuckles of your hand, not just around your wrist. Tuck your thumb into your palm as though putting on a glove, then measure around the widest part of the closed hand.
| Hand circumference | Inside diameter | Size |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 15.5 cm | 5.6 cm | Small (2-4) |
| 15.5 – 17.5 cm | 6.0 cm | Medium (2-6) |
| 17.5 – 19.5 cm | 6.5 cm | Large (2-8) |
| 19.5 cm and over | 7.0 cm | Extra large (2-10) |
Spring and screw bangles open, so they can sit closer to the wrist — measure the wrist itself and add half a centimetre for comfort.
Bracelet size
Measure snugly around the wrist bone, then add for the drape you want:
- Close fit — add 1.0 cm. Sits against the wrist; right for tennis bracelets and fine chains.
- Comfort fit — add 1.5 cm. The default, and what we ship unless you say otherwise.
- Loose fit — add 2.0 cm. For heavy curb links and charm bracelets meant to move.
Chunky links take up interior space. For anything above about 8 mm wide, add a further half centimetre.
Chain length
The quickest check is a length of string held at the neck in front of a mirror. These are where the standard lengths fall on an average adult:
| Length | Where it sits |
|---|---|
| 40 cm (16") | At the base of the neck — a choker on most adults |
| 45 cm (18") | On the collarbone. The most common length, and best for pendants |
| 50 cm (20") | Just below the collarbone; sits well over a shirt collar |
| 55 cm (22") | At the top of the neckline |
| 60 cm (24") | On the sternum — good for layering over a longer chain |
| 75 cm (30") | Below the bust; an opera length, worn long or doubled |
Layering two chains reads best with at least 5 cm between them.
If you are between sizes
Come in and be measured properly. Every boutique keeps a full ring gauge set and a bangle sizer, and it takes two minutes at the counter.
Buying a surprise? Borrow a ring they already wear on the correct finger and bring it in — we can read the size from the ring itself.
